Kuruman: Head of Maintenance

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Maintenance to lead our maintenance team in one of Africa’s most remote wilderness environments. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our camp’s infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, and infrastructure systems. You will also play a critical role in protecting our luxury assets while providing exceptional service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading all electrical, mechanical, and infrastructure maintenance across camp and operational facilities
• Preventative maintenance planning in extreme environmental conditions
• Managing generators, solar systems, water systems, HVAC, refrigeration, and plant equipment
• Ensuring safety compliance and electrical standards are non-negotiable
• Building and mentoring a high-performing technical team
• Protecting luxury assets

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician (Trade Test certified)
• At least 5 years experience in a large lodge / reserve environment
• Strong experience in hospitality, remote sites, or large-scale facilities
• Generator and solar expertise (advantageous)
• Borehole abstraction & monitoring sustainable extraction aligned with environmental regulations
• Water treatment systems filtration, chlorination, reverse osmosis where required
• Storage infrastructure tanks, pressure systems, backup reserves
