Kuruman: Head of Maintenance

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head of Maintenance to lead our electrical, mechanical, and infrastructure maintenance teams in one of Africa’s most remote wilderness environments. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of our luxury assets, while also protecting our environment and promoting sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading all electrical, mechanical, and infrastructure maintenance across camp and operational facilities
• Preventative maintenance planning in extreme environmental conditions
• Managing generators, solar systems, water systems, HVAC, refrigeration, and plant equipment
• Ensuring safety compliance and electrical standards are non-negotiable
• Building and mentoring a high-performing technical team
• Protecting luxury assets in one of Africa’s most remote wilderness environments

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician (Trade Test certified)
• At least 5 years experience in a large lodge/reserve environment
• Strong experience in hospitality, remote sites, or large-scale facilities
• Generator and solar expertise (advantageous)
• Borehole abstraction & monitoring sustainable extraction aligned with environmental regulations
• Water treatment systems filtration, chlorination, reverse osmosis where required
• Storage infrastructure tanks, pressure systems, backup reserves
