Job Description
Working hours are Monday to Thursday 07:30 – 17:00 and Friday 07:30 – 16:15. Overtime may be required. MIBCO contributions are compulsory for both employee and employer.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle assessments and routine maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults accurately
- Repair and service vehicles across various makes and models
- Assemble and install mechanical components according to specifications
- Complete job cards accurately, including repairs and parts used
- Ensure all critical components are checked and tested
- Perform minor and major services
- Carry out full overhauls of vehicle components
Requirements
- Red Seal Trade Certificate – Motor Mechanic (Light Vehicles) (proof required)
- Trade Test completed through MERSETA or an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience working on all makes and models, including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen
- Experience on both petrol and light vehicle diesel systems (non-negotiable)
- Valid South African driver’s licence
- Computer literate (diagnostic systems and workshop software)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems and diagnostic equipment
- High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Physically and mentally fit
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Sober habit
