About the Role
The Junior International Sales Manager position is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced sales professional to join our team in Nelspruit, South Africa. As a key member of our international sales team, you will be responsible for managing and growing our stable, sustainable, and profitable international sales of nuts, Nut in Shell (NIS), and other value-added products.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with management in the development of sales strategies and plans
- Work closely with management in the preparation of sales budgets and forecasts
- Scope and research both the international and domestic market for demand opportunities
- Provide the required input and assistance to ensure the effective implementation of sales strategies and plans
- Negotiate within the limits set by the Manager / General Manager (GM) annual sales contracts with existing customers
- Achieve average sell prices as agreed and advised from time to time
- Collect business intelligence from existing and potential new markets or regions to identify business and sale opportunities
- Optimize the allocation and sale of available product to customers and market to maximize profits
- Negotiate any revisions to contracts as required
- Seek out and develop new customer accounts in the allocated markets
- Ensure that all customers receive second-to-none customer service and that the business maintains its reputation for reliability and quality
- Attend industry trade shows as required to seek out sales leads and keep abreast of industry developments
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure the required marketing support is provided and the necessary sales tools developed
Requirements
- Tertiary Qualification: Degree in Business studies and Sales and Marketing, or Food Sciences
- Minimum five (5) years experience as sales manager in the Agri or Food industries
- Strong preference for nut of fruit sectors
- Citrus or avocado sales experience also highly regarded
- Extensive network with international retail chains, food manufacturers, food brands, food wholesalers or traders
- Experience in food safety would be beneficial
