About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Quality Manager to join our team in Nelspruit, who will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Food Safety and Quality Management System in line with FSSC 22000 v6 certification. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of food safety principles and quality assurance practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the company’s Food Safety and Quality Management System in line with FSSC 22000 v6 certification.
- Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of raw materials, in-process materials, finished goods, and environmental samples.
- Interpret test results, compare against specifications, and recommend actions for release or non-conformance.
- Perform visual inspections and monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Compile laboratory test data and conduct appropriate analyses to support quality assurance processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation including data capture forms, equipment logs, inventory sheets, and QA reports.
- Lead and coordinate internal audits, supplier audits, and external certification inspections.
- Facilitate staff training in food safety, hygiene, and quality assurance practices.
Requirements
- Minimum requirements: BSc in Plant/Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Botany, Biotechnology, or related field
- 5 years proven experience as a Quality Control Inspector or in a similar role
- Solid understanding and practical experience with FSSC 22000 (Version 6) and HACCP
- Previous experience with macadamias will be a strong advantage
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
