About the Role
The successful candidate will take full ownership of in-country operations in Zambia, ensuring alignment with business objectives while driving a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Leadership: Manage the consolidated P&L, oversee budgeting, reporting, audits, and ensure strong financial governance.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure full compliance with all statutory and tax requirements, maintaining a zero-penalty environment.
- Business Development: Identify new opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and expand services across mining, logistics, fuel supply, and procurement.
- Human Capital Management: Lead recruitment, performance management, and employee relations across all business units.
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Uphold strict safety standards and maintain a zero-harm culture across all sites.
- Operational Management (Fuel & Logistics): Oversee fuel sourcing, quality control, stock management, and supply chain efficiency.
- Capital Projects: Lead infrastructure projects including procurement, installation, and commissioning of key operational assets.
- Logistics & Handling Operations: Ensure efficient cargo handling, truck staging, and reporting with a strong focus on turnaround times and cost control.
- Strategic Leadership: Act as the primary in-country representative, managing client and regulatory relationships while driving growth initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
Professional qualification (CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) advantageous
810 years management experience, including senior leadership at country or GM level
Proven experience in mining environments (minimum 5 years)
Strong background in logistics and supply chain management
Experience working in cross-cultural or expatriate environments
Previous exposure to Zambia or the Sub-Saharan African region preferred
