About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Paarl, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and providing exceptional bookkeeping services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and process daily financial transactions (sales, invoices, expenses, payments)
- Maintain general ledgers and reconcile accounts to trial balance
- Prepare and review management reports (balance sheet, income statement, A/R & A/P age analysis, stock)
- Manage VAT reconciliations and submissions (SARS)
- Compile audit/financial statement packs
- Maintain accurate filing systems (digital and physical)
- Engage with clients on bookkeeping matters
- Support and help oversee the bookkeeping team
Requirements
- Matric with strong Maths and Accounting
- Certificate/Diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping
- 3–4 years’ bookkeeping experience in an accounting practice
- Solid knowledge of accounts payable/receivable, VAT, and reconciliations
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
- Training will be provided
