About the Role
A fine dining restaurant in Stellenbosch is seeking an exceptional Head Chef to lead their high-performance kitchen. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering refined cuisine, maintaining impeccable standards, and driving innovation within a luxury dining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the kitchen’s creative direction
- Operate the kitchen with operational efficiency
- Lead and manage a team of kitchen staff
- Design and execute seasonal, innovative menus
- Maintain exceptional quality and consistency in food presentation
- Ensure profitability while maintaining high standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Head Chef in a fine dining or upmarket restaurant
- Strong leadership and team management skills within high-pressure kitchens
- Excellent knowledge of food costing, stock control, and profit margins
- Exceptional attention to detail in plating and presentation
- Experience training and mentoring kitchen staff
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (e.g. culinary degree or equivalent)
Salary & Benefits
Salary: R18 000 – R20 000 per month (dependent on experience)
