This is more than a traditional accounting role. The successful candidate will work closely with investment professionals, senior leadership, auditors, and external stakeholders, playing a key role in maintaining the integrity of investment and fund reporting while supporting business growth initiatives.

You’ll work closely with investment professionals, gain exposure to complex transactions, and play a key role in supporting the financial integrity of investment funds and related entities.

Duties:

  • Managing the full fund accounting function across multiple investment vehicles
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations
  • Producing accurate investor reporting, capital account statements, and financial reports
  • Maintaining the integrity of fund accounting records, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Preparing management accounts, statutory financial statements, and board reporting packs
  • Coordinating month-end and year-end reporting processes
  • Liaising with fund managers, investors, auditors, custodians, brokers, and other stakeholders
  • Supporting external audits and ensuring all regulatory and reporting deadlines are met
  • Assisting with transaction implementation, accounting treatment reviews, and investment-related reporting
  • Contributing to process improvements, financial controls, and operational efficiencies

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Qualifications:
 

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • BCom Degree Accounting – Non Neg
  • BCom Honours in Accounting – Non Neg
  • CA(SA), AGA(SA)

 
Experience:

  • Completed SAICA Articles – Non Neg
  • 4+ years’ experience within fund accounting, fund administration, private equity, asset management, or investment fund environments
  • Strong experience with NAV calculations and investor reporting
  • Exposure to private equity, private debt, venture capital, asset management, or alternative investment funds
  • Solid understanding of IFRS and financial reporting requirements
  • Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience working with fund accounting systems and investment reporting platforms
  • Experience within a fund administrator or private equity environment
  • Exposure to investor capital activity, portfolio valuations, and fund performance reporting
  • Experience preparing capital account statements and investment reporting packs
  • Knowledge of fund structures and investment vehicles
