Parow: QC Supervisor

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Supervisor to join our leading manufacturing business, where you will play a key role in ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across laboratory and production operations. As a Quality Control Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest quality standards in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with GMP, GLP, ISO standards and internal quality management systems.
  • Review and approve laboratory results, test data and quality documentation.
  • Investigate product non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Support production teams through effective in-process quality control activities.
  • Oversee laboratory equipment verification, calibration and maintenance activities.
  • Manage quality inspections of raw materials, packaging materials and finished products.
  • Review and maintain product specifications, item codes and bill of materials.
  • Ensure environmental monitoring and outsourced testing activities are completed according to schedule.
  • Develop, implement and maintain quality control procedures, SOPs and sampling plans.
  • Lead, mentor and coordinate the activities of the Quality Control team.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Quality Assurance and Technical departments to ensure product compliance.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Technology or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within a Quality Control laboratory environment.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, GLP and quality management systems.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and investigative skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organisation.

Qualifications

  • Cosmetics, pharmaceutical, food manufacturing or related industry experience highly advantageous.
  • Exposure to ISO 9001, ISO 22716 or similar quality systems.
  • HPLC experience would be beneficial.
  • Experience with ERP systems and quality documentation processes advantageous.
