About the Role
Network Finance is seeking a skilled Credit Controller to join their team in Pietermaritzburg. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the debtor’s book, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices, and implementing effective credit control procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the debtor’s book, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices
- Follow up on overdue accounts via phone calls, emails, and statements
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies
- Assess creditworthiness of new and existing customers
- Prepare and review age analysis reports
- Allocate payments accurately and efficiently
- Work closely with internal departments to resolve billing issues
- Implement and maintain effective credit control procedures
- Assist with month-end reporting and audits
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 3–5 years’ proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of credit control procedures and debtor management
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
