About the Role

Trending Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our team in Pietermaritzburg. The successful candidate will provide management accounting and planning support, and insight for feed within the region. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial costing, people management, and experience in processing or manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Costing and Enabling Margin Improvement
  • Maintaining a close working relationship with National Management Accounting team to ensure accurate maintenance of standard cost on SAP system.
  • Continuously analysing and auditing of standard costs of products to ensure accuracy and reflect production processes.
  • Benchmarking standard cost of feed products against other EPOL mills and following up of differences.
  • Monthly analysis of variance reports of actual cost vs. standard cost and highlighting variances to mill management.
  • Close working relationship with regional sales team highlighting cost changes for proactive optimisation of margins.
  • Tracking product and customer profit margins using standard monthly reports.

Requirements

  • B.Com, CIMA or CA 4 to 5 years management accounting experience
  • Commercial costing
  • People management
  • Exposure to processing or manufacturing environments

Information and Data Management

Accurate and regular capture of data onto information system for reliable trend analysis and decision making.

Utilisation of SAP system for financial management function, especially variance reporting and budgeting and forecasting.

Functional Strategy into Action

Work in conjunction with Regional Finance Manager to co-create regional strategy based on 1-2 year view of requirements.

Communicate operational capacity required across medium term and plan required asset utilisation and Capex requirements.

Team Leadership

Provide team leadership, leads team towards meeting strategy and targets through regular communication and organisational talent management tool set.

Manage and deliver on succession plans to enable development of future generation of leaders and specialists.

Employment Equity

Achieve diversity at all levels and meet statutory targets and requirements.

Training and Development

Champions training and development of team, utilising available training opportunities or contributing to new training solutions in collaboration with regional and national training specialists.
