Manufacturing and Production Manager Overview An established manufacturing business in the food and production sector is seeking an experienced Manufacturing and Production Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations, lead production teams, and drive operational excellence across the facility. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an individual who can take ownership of day-to-day operations, and ensure production targets, quality standards, and customer commitments are consistently achieved. Key Requirements Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing and Production Management role within a food manufacturing environment. Proven experience managing manufacturing, food production teams and shop-floor operations. Strong leadership, workforce planning, and performance management skills. Experience monitoring production KPIs and reporting to senior management. Ability to manage a diverse workforce and maintain a positive team culture. Exposure to food safety, quality management systems, and manufacturing compliance standards. Strong problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills. Preferred Background Candidates with experience within food manufacturing, food processing, food ingredients, FMCG, or related manufacturing environments will be highly regarded. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Food Science, Food Technology, Production Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related disciplines are advantageous. Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage daily production operations. Ensure production schedules are achieved safely, efficiently, and on time. Lead, develop, and motivate production teams. Monitor productivity, quality, and operational performance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation. Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, health, and safety standards. Coordinate preventative maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability. Assist with operational budgeting, resource planning, and cost control. Develop and improve standard operating procedures and manufacturing processes. Support business growth through operational excellence and effective team leadership.
