Job Description
This role is suited to a strategic leader who excels in bringing structure, control and transparency to complex digital environments. You will establish and lead a central digital value function that ensures all technology investments are aligned to business objectives and deliver tangible outcomes. Working closely with executive leadership, you will oversee governance, risk management and portfolio visibility across all major technology streams. This includes ensuring strong financial oversight, enforcing compliance standards, and enabling delivery teams to operate within a clear and structured framework. This opportunity offers the chance to shape how digital investment decisions are made, influence long term strategy, and ensure that transformation initiatives deliver real business value rather than unchecked spend.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and lead the digital value function as the central governance authority for all IT investments
- Implement and manage enterprise project, program and portfolio management frameworks
- Oversee governance, risk and compliance in line with regulatory and security standards
- Drive financial oversight including business case validation, cost control and benefits realisation
- Maintain full visibility across all digital initiatives with accurate reporting on project health
- Manage vendor relationships and enforce commercial accountability and service delivery
- Develop and maintain IT policies, standards and procedures across all technology functions
- Engage with executive stakeholders and support decision making at board level
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or Project Management
- Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile will be beneficial
- Postgraduate qualification in business or technology is advantageous
- Minimum 15 years experience in IT governance, portfolio management or enterprise program delivery
- Proven experience establishing or leading a PMO or digital value function
- Strong background in financial governance including CAPEX, OPEX and investment management
- Experience managing vendors, contracts and service level agreements in complex environments
- Exposure to regulated industries such as healthcare or similar is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of governance frameworks such as ISO standards or COBIT
- Ability to manage large scale portfolios with multiple concurrent projects
- Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to engage at executive level
- Strong analytical mindset with focus on delivering measurable business value
