About the Role
Hire Resolve’s Client is seeking an experienced Chief Safety Officer to join their mining company in Polokwane, Limpopo. The successful candidate will lead the safety function to ensure compliance, manage risks, and promote a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and standards.
- Implement and monitor safety systems, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct incident investigations, audits, and inspections.
- Analyse safety performance and implement corrective actions.
- Provide guidance and support to management and teams on safety matters.
- Lead and manage safety personnel within the area of responsibility.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- 7 – 10 years’ conventional mining and hard rock underground experience with minimum 3 years’ as a Chief Safety Officer
- National Diploma or Degree in Safety Management
- Blasting Certificate for Scheduled/Underground Mines
- COMSOC/SAMTRAC Certificate
- MHSA Knowledge
- Valid Driver’s License
