About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Linux System Administrator to join our team in Pretoria, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, storage, networks, and applications, while also providing desktop/user support and troubleshooting technical issues.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain servers, storage, networks, and applications
Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues
Manage backups and disaster recovery processes
Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls
Support security and compliance initiatives (e.g., ISO 27001)
Provide desktop/user support and troubleshoot technical issues
Maintain system documentation and enforce IT policies
Set up new employee hardware and software
Implement and maintain network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls)
Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments
Evaluate and recommend new technologies
Participate in after-hours standby rotation

Requirements

RedHat or LPI Certification (essential)
Minimum 2 years Linux administration experience
Solid understanding of networking and server hardware
Experience with Office 365 administration
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Knowledge of IT security principles and risk management
Experience supporting end users and desktop environments
