About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician Millwright to join our team in Germiston. As a hands-on problem solver, you will be responsible for maintaining equipment at peak performance in fast-paced production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and complete tasks from the Maintenance Supervisor
- Follow correct process instructions for all jobs
- Perform set-ups and line changes with minimal downtime
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and safe working practices
- Ensure compliance with company policies and HSE standards
- Install new mechanical/electrical equipment and machinery
- Attend to breakdowns quickly and efficiently
- Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance
- Perform shift, overtime, and standby duties as required
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Handle additional tasks and projects as assigned
Requirements
- 5 years relevant experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Strong knowledge of PLC and HMI systems (coding is a bonus)
- Experience with DC motors, VSD/VFDs, sensors, and diagnostics
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Preventative and predictive maintenance mindset
- Self-driven, reliable, and able to work under pressure
Qualifications
- Electrical / Millwright / Mechatronics qualification
- Millwright Trade Test certification
- Basic computer literacy (not specified in the original job description)
