About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Reference and Master Data Management Specialist to join our team in Pretoria. As a key member of our data management team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive reference and master data management practices that drive accurate and trusted critical business information.
Key Responsibilities
- Defining and documenting reference data and master data requirements across business data domains
- Developing business rules, measurements, and metrics to support accurate and trusted critical business information
- Establishing an authoritative source of truth to support effective decision-making and operational efficiency
- Defining and managing master data relationships, hierarchies, structures, and entity views
- Supporting integrated data views and advanced analytics through effective master data management practices
- Implementing standards, guidelines, processes, and procedures for reference data and master data management
- Defining and applying data matching, merging, cleansing, and standardisation rules to enable a single version of the truth
- Creating, maintaining, managing, and integrating reference data and master data environments
- Developing and maintaining data taxonomies, data catalogues, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories
- Monitoring, measuring, remediating, and reporting on reference and master data quality metrics
- Identifying data quality issues, areas of non-conformance, and opportunities for improvement
- Contributing to the development of reference and master data standards, frameworks, and standard operating procedures
- Implementing governance controls to ensure reference and master data is properly maintained, controlled, and managed
Requirements
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Management or equivalent
- A minimum of five to eight years’ experience in a data management environment
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
