About the Role

Core Group is seeking a Mid-Level Business Analyst to join our team in Sandton. As an exclusive distributor for some of the world’s most recognised technology brands in Southern Africa, we’re looking for someone who can bridge the gap between business needs and data-driven solutions. With a strong data mindset and hands-on exposure to modern data platforms, particularly Microsoft Fabric, you’ll partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and drive improvements in data quality, governance, and accessibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand data, reporting, and analytics requirements
  • Translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications for data solutions
  • Work closely with data engineers to design and optimise scalable data pipelines
  • Support the implementation and adoption of Microsoft Fabric across the business
  • Analyse and document data flows, data models, and system integrations
  • Drive improvements in data quality, governance, and accessibility
  • Assist in building and validating datasets for reporting, dashboards, and analytics use cases
  • Act as the link between business teams, BI developers, and data engineering teams

Requirements

  • 35 years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • Strong exposure to data environments
  • Solid understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data modelling concepts
  • Hands-on or working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (or similar platforms like Azure Synapse, Data Factory, etc.)
  • Experience working with SQL and large datasets
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and lakehouse architectures
  • Strong documentation skills (BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows)
  • Ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively
  • Experience in retail, distribution, or supply chain environments
  • Exposure to Power BI or other data visualisation tools
  • Understanding of data governance and data quality frameworks
