About the Role
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Sales Assistant for their Sandton City Store to provide excellent customer service and support the overall success of the store. As a Sales Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining high merchandising standards, processing payments at Point of Sale, and reporting stock levels and issues to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain stock levels and report low stock, out-of-stock items, damaged stock, and expired stock to management.
- Assist with counting of stock files and general stocktaking.
- Load and off-load stock as needed.
- Identify and report damaged and expired stock immediately to management.
- Ensure boxes are flattened after unpacking stock and taken to the designated area.
- Maintain full ranges of products on shelves and ensure they are neatly presented.
- Restock merchandise when needed to ensure maximum sales.
- Ensure merchandise displays, labels, and pricing are always correct and report all price discrepancies to management.
- Keep up-to-date with new product knowledge to effectively assist customers.
- Handle merchandise carefully to prevent losses.
- Build stable displays timeously for promotions.
- Implement monthly promotions effectively to maximise sales.
- Ensure relevant posters and signage are put up in time for promotions.
- Process promotional tickets, price tickets, posters, etc. in the expected time frame.
- Take down promotional stock immediately after the end of promotions.
- Ensure accurate cash flow and follow correct cash handling procedures.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Up to 6 months retail experience
- Minimum 1 Year work experience within retail
