About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as an Elementary Montessori Internship Pathway. As a key member of our Montessori Elementary classroom environment, you will have the opportunity to support learners aged 6-12 in developing independence, curiosity, and critical thinking through child-led learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operations of a Montessori Elementary classroom environment for learners aged 6-12.
- Observe, guide, and assist learners within both Lower Elementary (ages 6-9 | Grade 1-3 equivalent) and Upper Elementary (ages 10-12 | Grade 4-6 equivalent) learning environments.
- Assist in the preparation, organisation, and maintenance of Montessori learning materials and the prepared classroom environment.
- Encourage and support learners in developing independence, curiosity, and critical thinking through child-led learning experiences.
- Work collaboratively with experienced educators and benefit from ongoing mentorship and guidance.
- Provide support during classroom activities, learning presentations, and learner supervision where required.
- Engage in continuous professional development and training to deepen understanding of Montessori educational practices.
Requirements
- Qualification: BEd (Foundation Phase or Intermediate Phase) or PGCE.
- Availability: Able to commit to the programme from April 2026 to September 2027.
- Experience: Previous experience working with children aged 6-12 years (Montessori exposure advantageous).
- Registration: Valid SACE registration.
- Compliance: Valid police clearance certificate.
