Quality Assurance Specialist Location: Somerset West, Western Cape, South Africa Salary: R40K – R50K CTC p.m. (depending on experience) Description We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to ensure our property management software is reliable, user-friendly, and high-performing, supporting the product team sitting on-site in Somerset West, Cape Town. In this role, you’ll collaborate with product and development teams to test, refine, and improve our solutions while driving continuous quality improvements. OUTCOMES The Quality Assurance Specialist ensures that all software products delivered to clients are reliable, user-friendly, and compliant with industry standards. Success will be measured by: • Delivering consistently high-quality releases with minimal defects in production. • Ensuring all testing processes are well-documented, repeatable, and aligned with product requirements. • Contributing to the continuous improvement of QA frameworks, automation, and testing efficiency. • Enabling faster delivery cycles without compromising quality by collaborating effectively with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders. CONTEXT This role operates within a property management software company focused on delivering innovative, cloud-based solutions to property managers and their clients. • The Quality Assurance Specialist will work as part of an Agile Scrum team, collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and other QA professionals. • The role requires proactive engagement in sprint planning, testing, and release activities, ensuring alignment with business objectives. • The environment values automation, continuous integration, and continuous improvement to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction. • The QA Specialist is expected to balance tactical testing tasks (manual and automated) with strategic process improvements that scale with the company’s growth. COMPETENCIES Knowledge & Experience • 2–3 years of proven experience as a Quality Assurance Specialist or similar role, ideally in cloud-based SaaS products. • Experience with QA methodologies, tools, and processes, including both manual and automated testing. • Exposure to automation frameworks and test case reusability. • Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and best practices in software quality. • Background in or exposure to the property management industry (advantageous). Skills & Attributes • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. • Ability to document QA activities, create audit reports, and build training/operating manuals. • Excellent communication skills—able to discuss issues and solutions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Adaptive and collaborative mindset; thrives in an iterative, learning-oriented environment. • Self-driven with a focus on continuous improvement in testing processes and tools. CUSTOMER The Quality Assurance Specialist’s work directly impacts: • End Users (Property Managers & Tenants): Ensuring the software is intuitive, stable, and reliable, enabling property managers to operate efficiently and tenants to have a seamless experience. • Internal Teams (Product & Development): Providing confidence that features meet requirements and perform as intended, allowing teams to innovate and release faster. • The Business: Protecting brand reputation by preventing defects, reducing support overhead, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. • The ultimate customer expectation is trust—that the software will consistently deliver the promised value without disruption. The QA Specialist plays a critical role in safeguarding this trust. Requirements Ideal Profile Snapshot • 2–3 years’ experience as a Quality Assurance Specialist or similar role, ideally with cloud-based software. • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices. • Experience with test automation tools (advantageous). • Familiarity with the property management industry (advantageous). • Understanding of relevant regulatory and compliance standards. • Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. • High attention to detail and commitment to quality. • Relevant QA training or certifications preferred
