About the Role

Join a growing organisation dedicated to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and strong financial governance. As an Accountant, you will play a central role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and performance of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, guide, and develop the finance team
  • Monitor outputs, conduct reviews, manage performance, and facilitate training
  • Drive effective communication, problem-solving, and continuous improvement
  • Month-End Processes: Ensure adherence to month-end timelines and checklists
  • Review journals, provisions, GL balances, and financial statements
  • Prepare and distribute management accounts by day seven
  • Banking & Cash Flow: Oversee daily processing and reconciliation of bank accounts and cash books
  • Monitor petty cash, credit card reconciliations, and filing
  • Manage cash flow planning and liaise with banks
  • Debtors & Creditors Management: Administer debtor approvals and review age analyses
  • Monitor credit control processes and overdue interest
  • Oversee supplier account setup, reconciliations, payments, and discounts
  • Statutory Compliance (SARS & CIPC): Submit VAT201, EMP201, and annual returns on time
  • Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register
  • Oversee depreciation, asset verification, warranties, and licensing
  • Payroll & HR Support: Oversee payroll processing and related administration
  • Process payroll journals and statutory submissions
  • Reporting & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records and archives

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Accountant in a similar role
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills
  • Excellent understanding of financial processes, controls, and legislation
  • Proficiency in month-end reporting, reconciliations, and audits
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

About the Role

Join a stable, well-established organisation where you’ll step into a professional finance environment supported by clear processes and structured responsibilities. As the Accountant, you’ll work closely with a supportive leadership team and report directly to the Finance & HR Manager, ensuring both guidance and room to excel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full creditors function, including invoice processing and payments
  • Maintain and update the creditors Masterfile on Sage Match
  • Process and reconcile creditor payments
  • Load supplier payments on banking platforms
  • Prepare financial reports and analysis when required
  • Capture daily bank statement transactions
  • Process and reconcile petty cash transactions with full supporting records
  • Assist with stock reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold internal control standards

Requirements

  • Matric with a Financial Qualification (Certificate / Diploma / Degree)
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar creditors and accounting role
  • Experience using accounting software (e.g., Sage Evolution)
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with online banking platforms
