About the Role
Join a growing organisation dedicated to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and strong financial governance. As an Accountant, you will play a central role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and performance of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, guide, and develop the finance team
- Monitor outputs, conduct reviews, manage performance, and facilitate training
- Drive effective communication, problem-solving, and continuous improvement
- Month-End Processes: Ensure adherence to month-end timelines and checklists
- Review journals, provisions, GL balances, and financial statements
- Prepare and distribute management accounts by day seven
- Banking & Cash Flow: Oversee daily processing and reconciliation of bank accounts and cash books
- Monitor petty cash, credit card reconciliations, and filing
- Manage cash flow planning and liaise with banks
- Debtors & Creditors Management: Administer debtor approvals and review age analyses
- Monitor credit control processes and overdue interest
- Oversee supplier account setup, reconciliations, payments, and discounts
- Statutory Compliance (SARS & CIPC): Submit VAT201, EMP201, and annual returns on time
- Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register
- Oversee depreciation, asset verification, warranties, and licensing
- Payroll & HR Support: Oversee payroll processing and related administration
- Process payroll journals and statutory submissions
- Reporting & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records and archives
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Accountant in a similar role
- Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills
- Excellent understanding of financial processes, controls, and legislation
- Proficiency in month-end reporting, reconciliations, and audits
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
