About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Assistant Farm Manager to join our team in a remote area of South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture or field-based operations, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for mentoring and upskilling others.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily field operations activities: planting, harvesting, crop care & road maintenance (PDCA)
- Coordinate efficient transportation of harvested fruit from estate to mills.
- Analyse field productivity data to identify areas for performance improvement (for daily activities and process improvement initiatives).
- Mentoring and upskilling of field workers and coworkers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture / forestry or related field
- 3-5 years’ experience in agriculture or field-based operations
- Experience in a supervisory role
- Independent, proactive, eager to learn and results-oriented
- Strong social / interpersonal skills
- Exposure to meeting and/or working with people from different cultures and backgrounds (ideally has travelled outside home region/overseas and especially Asia)
- Willing to learn different languages
- Comfortable to live/work in remote area
- Hobbies are outdoors/sport-related
