About the Role

An established, vertically integrated viticulture enterprise in the Boland area seeks a seasoned, recently retired CEO for a 1–2 year contract. The ideal candidate will provide strategic stewardship, optimize operations, and mentor senior management during a transitional period.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Guide the company through a strategic transition, overseeing farming, logistics, and export operations in conjunction with the Heads of Departments (HODs)

• Operational Optimization: Drive efficiencies across the integrated value chain, from primary production to international market distribution.

• Stakeholder & Board Management: Engage with producers, shareholders, and industry bodies, including compliance management.

• Mentorship: Mentor and develop the next generation of senior agricultural management.

Requirements

Significant executive leadership experience (CEO/MD level) within the commercial agriculture or fruit export industry. Proven track record in managing integrated farming operations, including packing and cold chain logistics. High levels of integrity, business acumen, and a visionary approach to commercial/agricultural challenges. Residing in or willing to work in the Boland area.
