About the Role

Our client, a luxury five star hotel in Southern Africa, is seeking a passionate and energetic Director of Culture, Learning & People Development to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in implementing and maintaining all Human Resources policies and procedures across the property, supporting a full head count of approximately 700 staff once open.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain all Human Resources policies and procedures across the property
  • Assist with the implementation of employee onboarding and training programs
  • Develop and implement succession planning strategies to ensure continuity of key roles
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement performance management systems
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on company policies, procedures, and expectations
  • Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including suppliers and contractors

Requirements

  • Prior African experience is a pre-requisite for this role
  • Calm and collected personality with excellent decision making skills
  • Holding a similar position in a reputable four or five star Hotel with at least three years of senior Human Resource, Training, or People Development experience
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field

  • US$3,000 to US$4,000 net per month (negotiable)
