About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Safari & Experiences Manager for a luxury country hotel situated in the heart of Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping immersive safari and lifestyle experiences, ensuring operational excellence while maintaining a strong focus on sustainability and authentic guest engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee safari, boating, and guest experience operations
  • Manage safari vehicles, boats, equipment, and overall operational readiness
  • Lead, train, and develop the safari and experiences team
  • Deliver exceptional guest engagement and guiding experiences
  • Develop unique safari, conservation, wellness, and cultural experiences
  • Coordinate sustainability and community engagement initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with conservation partners and tourism stakeholders
  • Ensure safety, compliance, and operational standards are consistently met
  • Assist with budgeting, reporting, forecasting, and operational planning
  • Collaborate with marketing teams on guest experience content and promotions

Requirements

  • Previous experience in safari, lodge, or experiential tourism management
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Passion for hospitality, conservation, and guest experience excellence
  • Experience managing safari vehicles and operational assets
  • Valid driver’s licence with PDP essential
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays

Qualifications

  • FGASA qualification or guiding background (Highly Advantageous)
  • Valid skipper’s licence and boating experience (Highly Advantageous)
  • Hospitality management experience in boutique or experiential properties (Highly Advantageous)
  • Knowledge of Zululand reserves and regional tourism offerings (Highly Advantageous)
