About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Executive Chef to lead our luxury safari lodge’s culinary operations in Tanzania. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding dining experiences that complement our world-class safari journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all kitchen operations across the lodge
- Develop innovative menus aligned with luxury hospitality standards and guest expectations
- Ensure exceptional food quality, presentation, and consistency across all meal services
- Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff to maintain high performance standards
- Manage stock control, ordering, inventory, and supplier relationships
- Monitor food costs, budgets, and kitchen profitability
- Ensure strict compliance with hygiene, health, and food safety standards
- Cater for special dietary requirements and personalised guest requests
- Work closely with lodge management to enhance the overall guest experience
- Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure efficient operational procedures
- Conduct regular quality control checks and implement continuous improvements
- Foster a positive, professional, and motivated kitchen culture
Requirements
- Formal Culinary Qualification from a recognised institution
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Executive Chef or Senior Head Chef within luxury hospitality safari lodge
- Previous experience in a luxury safari lodge, resort, or remote hospitality environment preferred
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent knowledge of international cuisine, fine dining, and modern culinary trends
- Proven experience in food cost control, budgeting, and stock management
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen compliance standards
- Ability to perform under pressure in a remote operational environment
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
