About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Financial Manager to lead our finance team and oversee the full financial accounting function. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial background, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of driving profitability through cost optimization. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor members of the finance team to promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and service excellence
- Oversee the full financial accounting function, including journals, reconciliations, month-end, management accounts, and intercompany transactions
- Manage financial systems development according to business and reporting needs
- Drive profitability through continuous review of departmental cost structures, margins, and yields
- Lead annual budgeting and forecast cycles, collaborating closely with Heads of Department to ensure realistic, data-driven forecasting
- Perform preliminary analysis of variances between budgets, actuals, forecasts, statistics, and KPIs
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years post-article experience in financial management or senior accounting
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead, guide, and support members of the team
- Strong analytical, financial modelling, and problem-solving skills
- Commercially minded with a strategic outlook and hands-on operational awareness
Qualifications
- BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
- Completion of SAICA articles
