About the Role
We are seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead the culinary offering at an ultra-luxury safari lodge in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering refined and memorable dining experiences while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and kitchen management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day leadership of the kitchen operation
- Ensure all culinary experiences align with the lodge’s luxury positioning
- Support the wider guest experience and operational standards of the property
- Combine strong culinary creativity with excellent organisation, cost control, and team leadership
- Mentor and develop kitchen teams while maintaining consistently high standards across all culinary outputs
Requirements
- Recognised 3-year chef qualification or equivalent formal culinary training
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a senior chef or Head Chef level role within luxury hospitality or remote lodge environments
- Strong menu design and food concept development skills with a broad understanding of international cuisine and dietary requirements
- Solid understanding of food costing, kitchen budgets, and stock management
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop kitchen teams while maintaining strong operational discipline
