About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Risk and Analytics Manager to join our Risk & Analytics department. This is a strategic role that leverages data and analytics to drive customer strategies, optimize credit portfolios, and enhance overall company performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis of retail credit portfolios, identifying risks, trends, and opportunities to optimize performance.
  • Develop and implement data-driven strategies to manage customer risk, improve collections, and support growth initiatives.
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights, recommendations, and reporting for senior management and the Board.
  • Monitor key risk indicators, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Operations, and Finance, to integrate risk analytics into business strategy.
  • Drive continuous improvement through advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and scenario analysis.

Requirements

  • Relevant postgraduate degree in mathematical or statistical subjects preferred; B. Com or Business Science degree acceptable.
  • 8+ years’ experience in consumer credit analytics, with proven ability to implement solutions based on analytical findings.
  • Strong experience in retail credit risk management and portfolio analytics.
  • Advanced numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and platforms (Python, R, SQL, SAS, or similar).
  • Experience with reporting, dashboards, and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate complex analytical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration, leadership, and project management skills.

Qualifications

  • Relevant postgraduate degree in mathematical or statistical subjects preferred; B. Com or Business Science degree acceptable.

Salary & Benefits

Salary of up to R1mil per annum, negotiable based on experience.

About the Role

A leading retail corporation is seeking a seasoned Risk and Analytics Manager to join its Risk & Analytics department. This strategic position leverages data-driven insights to inform customer strategies, optimise credit portfolios, and enhance overall organisational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of risk models and analytics frameworks using SAS, SQL, and Python.
  • Analyse customer and portfolio data to identify trends, risk exposures, and optimisation opportunities.
  • Design and deliver actionable insights to support credit risk strategies, customer segmentation, and business performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate strategic requirements into data-driven solutions and reporting frameworks.
  • Build, validate, and maintain predictive and statistical models to assess credit risk and inform decision-making.
  • Monitor and validate data quality across multiple sources, ensuring robust governance and compliance standards.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and Board-level stakeholders in clear, actionable formats.
  • Mentor and guide junior analysts in best practices for SAS, SQL, Python, and advanced analytics techniques.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Extensive experience in consumer credit analytics
  • Ability to work efficiently under both structured and unstructured environments

Qualifications

  • Relevant postgraduate degree in mathematical or statistical subjects preferred; B. Com or Business Science degree acceptable.
