About the Role
A leading retail corporation is seeking a seasoned Risk and Analytics Manager to join its Risk & Analytics department. This strategic position leverages data-driven insights to inform customer strategies, optimise credit portfolios, and enhance overall organisational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of risk models and analytics frameworks using SAS, SQL, and Python.
- Analyse customer and portfolio data to identify trends, risk exposures, and optimisation opportunities.
- Design and deliver actionable insights to support credit risk strategies, customer segmentation, and business performance improvements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate strategic requirements into data-driven solutions and reporting frameworks.
- Build, validate, and maintain predictive and statistical models to assess credit risk and inform decision-making.
- Monitor and validate data quality across multiple sources, ensuring robust governance and compliance standards.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management and Board-level stakeholders in clear, actionable formats.
- Mentor and guide junior analysts in best practices for SAS, SQL, Python, and advanced analytics techniques.
Requirements
- Relevant postgraduate degree in mathematical or statistical subjects preferred; B. Com or Business Science degree acceptable.
- 8+ years’ experience in consumer credit analytics, with proven ability to implement solutions based on analytical findings.
- Deep understanding of the credit lifecycle; experience with revolving store cards or credit cards advantageous.
- Ability to work efficiently under both structured and unstructured environments.
- Experience in predictive analytics with a strong numerical and statistical background.
- Ability to monitor models and report results to the Board.
- Experience mentoring and supporting junior team members.
- Experience with SAS (Base, Enterprise Guide, or SAS Viya) strongly advantageous.
- Knowledge of SAS SQL or Python for analytics is an advantage.
