About the Role
As a Hotel Reception Shift Leader at The President Hotel, you will be responsible for leading our front desk team during assigned shifts, ensuring exceptional service excellence and delivering a warm, professional first impression to our guests. You will work closely with our management team to ensure seamless operations and maintain our luxury hotel positioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the front desk team during assigned shifts, ensuring service excellence at all times
- Welcome guests and deliver a warm, professional first impression
- Oversee smooth and efficient check-ins, check-outs, and billing procedures
- Resolve guest enquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally
- Ensure service delivery aligns with the hotel’s luxury positioning
- Supervise daily front office operations and ensure SOPs are followed
- Accurately manage reservations, billing, and guest profiles on Opera PMS
- Prepare and conduct detailed shift handovers
- Support staff scheduling, break management, and shift coordination
- Liaise effectively with Housekeeping, Porters, Maintenance, and Management
- Assist with training, mentoring, and performance guidance of reception staff
Requirements
- Matric or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Reception Shift Leader or Senior Receptionist within a large, branded hotel
- Opera PMS experience is essential
- Strong guest service background in a 4 or 5-star branded hotel environment
- Valid South African ID or valid work permit
- Computer literacy including Opera PMS and Microsoft Office
