Lodge Facilities Coordinator | Luxury Lodge | Northern KwaZulu-Natal
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Lodge Facilities Coordinator for a luxury lodge and reserve based in Northern KwaZulu-Natal.
This live-in opportunity is ideal for a practical and skilled maintenance professional with strong mechanical, technical and infrastructure maintenance experience. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the lodge, reserve facilities and vehicle fleet, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, functionality and guest comfort.
Location: Northern KwaZulu-Natal
Accommodation: Live-In
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
Key Responsibilities
Fleet & Mechanical Management
Manage and maintain the safari and reserve vehicle fleet
Schedule and carry out preventative maintenance programmes
Conduct mechanical diagnostics, fault-finding and repairs
Maintain tyres, brakes, suspension, steering and drivetrain components
Keep accurate service records, maintenance logs and mileage reports
Liaise with external mechanics and service providers when required
Lodge & Infrastructure Maintenance
Maintain guest accommodation, public areas and operational facilities
Carry out plumbing repairs and water system maintenance
Perform electrical fault-finding and basic installations
Conduct carpentry, painting and general building maintenance
Ensure all lodge infrastructure remains in excellent working condition
Reserve & Operational Maintenance
Maintain pumps, boreholes and water reticulation systems
Conduct fence, gate and welding repairs
Assist with reserve road maintenance in conjunction with contractors
Oversee workshop organisation, tools and equipment maintenance
Ensure all operational infrastructure supports the efficient running of the reserve
Health & Safety
Ensure all vehicles are safe, roadworthy and guest-ready
Maintain safe working practices across all departments
Identify and report maintenance risks and safety concerns
Ensure compliance with lodge health and safety standards

Well-maintained lodge facilities and reserve infrastructure
Effective preventative maintenance programmes that reduce long-term costs
Safe, functional and guest-ready facilities at all times
Positive contribution to operational efficiency and guest satisfaction
Requirements
510 years’ maintenance experience, ideally within a lodge, reserve or remote-site environment
Practical trade qualification advantageous
Strong mechanical, electrical and technical maintenance knowledge
Experience with vehicle maintenance and diagnostics
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Valid driver’s licence
Comfortable living and working in a remote bush environment
