Job Description

Job Title: Logistics Coordinator Industry: Hospitality (Hotel / Lodge / Resort) Location: South Africa Reporting To: Operations Manager / General Manager Job Purpose To coordinate and manage the movement, storage, and distribution of goods and supplies to ensure smooth daily operations within the hospitality environment. The Logistics Coordinator ensures that all departments (F&B, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services) are adequately stocked and supported. Key Responsibilities Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination Coordinate deliveries, collections, and transportation of goods to and from the property Manage supplier schedules and ensure timely delivery of stock Track orders and resolve any delays or discrepancies Oversee receiving, checking, and recording of incoming goods Inventory & Stock Control Monitor stock levels across departments (kitchen, bar, housekeeping, maintenance) Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile variances Maintain accurate inventory records and systems Ensure proper storage conditions and stock rotation (FIFO principles) Procurement Support Assist with sourcing suppliers and obtaining quotes Place orders in line with procurement policies Maintain supplier relationships and performance records Ensure cost-effective purchasing practices Fleet & Transport Management (if applicable) Coordinate company vehicles for staff, guest transfers, and deliveries Monitor vehicle usage, maintenance schedules, and fuel consumption Ensure compliance with transport and safety regulations Administration & Reporting Maintain delivery logs, invoices, and stock documentation Prepare weekly/monthly logistics and stock reports Ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements Health, Safety & Compliance Ensure all goods handling complies with health and safety standards Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations Maintain clean, safe, and organized storage areas Minimum Requirements Qualifications Diploma or Certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management, or related field Experience 24 years experience in logistics, stock control, or procurement (hospitality experience preferred) Experience in lodges, hotels, or remote properties is advantageous Skills & Competencies Strong organizational and coordination skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and work under pressure Problem-solving and decision-making ability Computer literacy (MS Office, stock systems, or ERP systems) Key Attributes Reliable and trustworthy Proactive and hands-on approach Strong teamwork and collaboration skills Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays High level of integrity and accountability Advantageous Requirements Valid drivers license (Code B or higher) Experience with stock management systems (e.g., Pilot, Materials Control, or similar) Knowledge of South African health & safety regulations Working Conditions Based on-site at hotel/lodge/resort (may include remote locations) May involve physical work (lifting, moving stock) Fast-paced, operational environment
