About the Role

African Echoes Recruitment is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee and manage all maintenance operations across our Big 5 Game Lodge in Pilanesberg, North West. The ideal candidate will ensure that the lodge facilities, equipment, and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standard, supporting a seamless guest experience in a luxury environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all maintenance operations across the lodge
  • Implement and manage preventative maintenance plans
  • Ensure all lodge facilities and equipment are in excellent working condition
  • Supervise and manage the maintenance team
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, rooms, and public areas
  • Manage stock, tools, and maintenance supplies
  • Coordinate repairs, services, and external contractors
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergencies
  • Maintain records of maintenance work and schedules

Requirements

• RSA ID and legal residence essential

• Relevant technical qualification (Electrical / Mechanical / Building)

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager in a lodge or hospitality environment

• Strong knowledge of general maintenance including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building upkeep

• Ability to manage preventative maintenance schedules

• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills

• Experience managing a maintenance team

• Good organisational and stock control skills

• Ability to work independently and under pressure

• Valid driver’s license essential
