About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the full maintenance function of our lodge property. This role plays a key role in supporting exceptional guest experiences by minimizing downtime and ensuring the property remains fully functional, safe, and well-presented.
Key Responsibilities
- Property & Infrastructure Maintenance
- Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance of:
- Guest rooms and public areas
- Staff accommodation
- Kitchens, laundry, and service areas
- Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Boreholes, pumps, water systems, and irrigation
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and grounds
- Team Management
- Supervise maintenance staff and external contractors
- Allocate daily tasks and monitor performance
- Provide training and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Manage duty rosters and standby schedules
- Procurement & Stock Control
- Source and procure maintenance supplies and equipment
- Manage maintenance inventory and stores
- Obtain competitive quotations and manage supplier relationships
- Control maintenance budget and monitor expenses
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with:
- Occupational Health & Safety regulations
- Fire safety standards
- Environmental regulations
- Maintain fire equipment, alarms, and emergency systems
- Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments
- Grounds & Environmental Management
- Oversee landscaping and grounds maintenance
- Ensure proper waste management practices
- Monitor water usage and implement sustainability initiatives
- Guest Experience Support
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance concerns
- Ensure minimal disruption during repairs
- Maintain high presentation standards throughout the property
