About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the full maintenance function of our lodge property. This role plays a key role in supporting exceptional guest experiences by minimizing downtime and ensuring the property remains fully functional, safe, and well-presented.

Key Responsibilities

  • Property & Infrastructure Maintenance
  • Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance of:
  • Guest rooms and public areas
  • Staff accommodation
  • Kitchens, laundry, and service areas
  • Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
  • Boreholes, pumps, water systems, and irrigation
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and grounds
  • Team Management
  • Supervise maintenance staff and external contractors
  • Allocate daily tasks and monitor performance
  • Provide training and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Manage duty rosters and standby schedules
  • Procurement & Stock Control
  • Source and procure maintenance supplies and equipment
  • Manage maintenance inventory and stores
  • Obtain competitive quotations and manage supplier relationships
  • Control maintenance budget and monitor expenses
  • Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with:
  • Occupational Health & Safety regulations
  • Fire safety standards
  • Environmental regulations
  • Maintain fire equipment, alarms, and emergency systems
  • Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments
  • Grounds & Environmental Management
  • Oversee landscaping and grounds maintenance
  • Ensure proper waste management practices
  • Monitor water usage and implement sustainability initiatives
  • Guest Experience Support
  • Respond promptly to guest maintenance concerns
  • Ensure minimal disruption during repairs
  • Maintain high presentation standards throughout the property
