About the Role
We are seeking an experienced People Operations Lead to join our client’s wine estate in Stellenbosch I Brackenfell area. As a key member of their people team, you will play a crucial role in supporting a dynamic and high-volume hospitality environment. With strong employee relations expertise and a confident approach, you will thrive in this fast-paced setting and work closely with line management to deliver effective HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, and incapacity processes
- Chair hearings and ensure compliance with labour legislation and internal policies
- Provide clear, practical guidance to line managers on people-related matters
- Manage and support the HR team
- Support the management team with HR related matters
- Oversee HR operations across the full employee lifecycle including talent acquisition; learning & development; onboarding and off boarding
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance in HR processes and documentation
- Support the implementation of HR policies and initiatives across the business
- Work collaboratively with the Payroll and Finance team to ensure accurate monthly payroll reporting
Requirements
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Labour Law, or a related field
- At least 5–8 years’ HR experience, with a strong focus on employee relations
- Proven experience managing disciplinaries and chairing hearings
- Solid knowledge of South African labour legislation
- Experience in hospitality, retail, or other high-volume environments advantageous
