About the Role
As a Piggery Manager at Kerry Kopp Consulting, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our piggery, ensuring the health and welfare of our pigs, and driving production optimization to maximize output.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of the piggery, including feeding, breeding, and other husbandry tasks.
- Manage a team of employees, providing training and support as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of livestock health, production, and other relevant information.
- Regularly monitor the health and welfare of the pigs, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
- Implement preventative measures to minimize the risk of disease outbreaks and ensure the health of the herd.
- Ensure that pigs are housed and cared for in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
- Monitor and optimize production levels, ensuring efficient use of resources and maximizing output.
- Manage the piggery’s spending, ensuring efficient spending and maximizing profitability.
- Oversee the maintenance of the piggery facilities and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Ensure that the piggery operates in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to protect workers and the animals.
- Provide training to staff on health and safety procedures.
