About the Role
As a Sales Manager at Virgin Active South Africa Pty Ltd, you will play a crucial role in driving sales growth and achieving customer acquisition targets. Your primary objective is to make exercise irresistible to our members by delivering exceptional sales results and leading a high-performing sales team. This involves creating and implementing sales plans, coaching and mentoring team members, and identifying opportunities to grow the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve growth and consistently achieve on sales targets by successfully leading the sales team.
- Make recommendations to sales plans and reviews, preparing, and completing action plans for the sales team, and coaching the team for successful delivery.
- Implement customer-service standards; resolve queries; complete audits; identify trends and implement change as needed.
- Maintain and develop a high-performance sales team with a focus on accomplishing sales objectives by leading, developing, coaching, and mentoring team members.
- Perform administrative and management functions in line with daily, monthly, and quarterly deadlines.
- Sell memberships to achieve the set monthly budget and sales goals.
- Complete all administrative procedures as required by the company.
- Proactively identify opportunities and market Virgin Active memberships to the community surrounding the clubs and/or corporate organisations.
- Actively follow up on leads provided in club and surrounds.
Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- Relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous)
- At least 2 years of experience within a sales management role, managing a sales team
- At least 4 years of previous experience within the sales environment (similar industry preferable) or sales consultant role
- Proven track record in a solution sale environment
- Highly numerate, financially astute, and able to understand budgeting processes
- Excellent analytical and organisational skills
- Ability to negotiate and close deals under pressure
- Successfully completed Proactive Sales Manager training (Internal Candidates)
