About the Role

Our client in the technology industry is looking for a Receptionist to act both as an operator and receptionist at a single-position telephone switchboard or console. This role requires someone who can handle multiple tasks with ease, provide excellent customer service, and maintain a professional demeanor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receives, welcomes, books and refers visitors to the relevant individual or department.
  • Accepts delivery of small parcels and advises addressee.
  • Maintains reception area in a tidy condition.
  • Connects callers who may be uncertain of their require contact to the most appropriate department/contact.
  • Takes and passes on messages. Determines when an issue is urgent and expedites a response.
  • May administer routine parking and taxi arrangements, and issues and collects security badges for visitors.
  • Acts with tact, discretion, and courtesy at all times as a key point of entry to the organization.
  • May perform basic clerical tasks and/or undertake simple copy typing as time permits.
  • Orders and distributes stationary to staff.
  • Sorts in order paper work and distributes to the correct people.
  • Facilitates faxing, typing, scanning, and filling.
  • Posts letters and documents within South Africa.
  • Couriers documents and sample products out of South Africa.

Requirements

  • Matric
  • 1 year’s working experience in secretarial or reception work

Qualifications

No formal education or certifications are required for this role.

Salary & Benefits

The salary for this position is R8,000 per month.
