About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Unit Manager to drive business development and growth within our chrome and platinum mining sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing branch operations, ensuring all operations meet company standards, safety requirements, and key performance indicators (KPIs). This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the success of Liham Consulting Pty (Ltd).
Key Responsibilities
- Driving business development within the chrome and platinum mining sector
- Identifying and implementing training and development initiatives
- Ensuring all operations meet company standards, safety requirements, and KPIs
- Leading and managing branch operations to achieve revenue growth, profitability, and operational excellence
- Managing projects within budget and agreed timelines
- Maintaining and growing key client relationships within mining operations
- Ensuring on-site technicians effectively service key accounts
- Ensuring optimal utilization of all resources, including technical teams and field service staff
- Engaging with customers and suppliers to resolve operational and service issues
- Supporting and driving technical sales performance
- Managing financial performance, budgets, and profitability
Requirements
- Proven mining experience (ESSENTIAL)
- Experience in a management role within mining, engineering, or construction environments
- Experience working with mining clients (chrome/platinum preferred)
- Strong technical understanding of: Diesel Engines, Motor Engineering, Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM) machines and engines
- Hands-on experience with TMM equipment such as: Load-Haul-Dumpers (LHDs), Underground dump trucks, Drill rigs, Roof bolters, Utility/service vehicles
- Experience managing technical teams and field service operations
- Valid drivers license
