About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to join our Japanese-inspired fine-dining restaurant at a prestigious estate in Stellenbosch. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences and driving business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily operations of the restaurant
- Deliver superior service and maximize guest satisfaction
- Engage efficiently and accurately with guests’ needs and complaints
- Work alongside Sommelier to compile wine & beverage lists and recommend wine to guests
- Ensure wine lists in rooms are updated
- Staff recruitment & effective management (including rosters overtime)
- Responsible for stock purchasing, managing stock budget, and flow and working according to the budget
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Tertiary qualification in Food Services Management / Hospitality
- At least 3 years previous Restaurant Manager experience in 5* / fine dining or luxury Restaurant / Hotel
- Wine certification course or similar experience alignment
- Previous Gourmet Guide and Eat Out aligned fine dining experience (preferential)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable in dealing with very distinguished clientele
- Excellent food and wine knowledge
- Excellent ability to pay attention to detail
- High stress tolerance and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent planning and organizing skills
- Reliable, flexible, adaptable & self-disciplined
