About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Citrus Nursery Manager to join our team at Persona Staff in the Western Cape. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process from planting to delivery, ensuring high-quality products that meet our premium-grade standards. You will also be instrumental in managing inventory, supplies, and resources effectively, as well as promoting our nursery’s products through marketing campaigns and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute the planting of plants.
- Ensure the care and monitoring of plants to produce high-quality and premium-grade products.
- Install and maintain irrigation systems.
- Fertilise plants appropriately and manage soil nutrition.
- Apply effective pest control measures.
- Perform pruning and general plant maintenance.
- Erect and maintain nursery structures such as shade nets or greenhouses.
- Purchase, safeguard, and manage toxic substances (e.g., pesticides) safely.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in citrus nursery management or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of horticultural practices, irrigation systems, and soil nutrition.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks efficiently.
Qualifications
- Relevant degree in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field (e.g., Bachelor’s degree).
Salary & Benefits
[Salary range: R250,000 – R350,000 per annum, depending on experience.
