About the Role
Network Contracting, a leading IT service provider in Western Cape, is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team. We are looking for a skilled professional who has hands-on experience across security engineering, threat detection, and incident response. The successful candidate will design, implement, and maintain security controls across systems and networks, while also monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents and threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain security controls across systems and networks.
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents and threats.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support penetration testing activities.
- Configure and manage security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory frameworks.
- Support security incident investigations and remediation efforts.
- Maintain security documentation, reports, and procedures.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in IT, Information Security, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of network, infrastructure, and application security.
- Experience with security monitoring and SIEM tools.
- Knowledge of vulnerability management, threat analysis, and incident response.
- Familiarity with firewalls, endpoint security, IAM, and access controls.
- Exposure to cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Qualifications
- Security certifications (Security+, CEH, CISSP – advantageous).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
