About the Role
ESG Recruitment is seeking an experienced General Manager to join our team in the Western Cape region. The successful candidate will oversee production processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to safety regulations. With a strong background in industrial engineering and management experience in the manufacturing/steel industry, we are looking for a dynamic leader to drive production targets and promote a culture of safety and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of steel production processes
- Optimize resource allocation, including manpower, machinery, and materials
- Implement and maintain quality control measures
- Continuously evaluate and improve production processes
- Supervise inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
- Lead and develop a team of production staff
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Develop and manage budgets for production operations
- Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors
Requirements
- Qualification in Industrial Engineering essential
- At least 10 years management experience in manufacturing/steel industry
- 6 Sigma Certification/experience beneficial
- Strong understanding of steel production processes, machinery, and equipment
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is desirable
- Financial background and sales experience must be demonstrated

- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
