About the Role
The Head of Department – Theatre at Tower Group is responsible for ensuring the efficient management and staffing of our theatres, while maintaining high standards of quality service delivery to patients, doctors, and staff. This role requires strong leadership and administrative skills, as well as a deep understanding of the healthcare industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the theatres efficiently, ensuring accurate stock counts and equipment maintenance.
- Supervise theatre staff, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent patient care.
- Develop and implement on-going in-service education programs for ward staff.
- Perform patient billing accurately and ensure timely payment processing.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and integrity.
- Work flexibly, including being available for theatre standby and rotational call-outs.
Requirements
- General Nursing Science with Midwifery degree or diploma.
- Post Basic Diploma in Nursing Management (SANC Registered).
- Post Basic Diploma in Operating Theatre Technique (SANC Registered).
- Minimum of 10 years nursing experience.
- Minimum of 5 years theatre experience in a private hospital.
- Previous HOD experience is an added advantage.
