About the Role
Persona Staff is seeking a reliable Maintenance Worker to join their team in the Western Cape region. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs, ensuring the upkeep of public areas and back-of-house facilities, and providing excellent guest services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, tiling, etc.)
- Conduct routine inspections of rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities
- Attend to maintenance requests from guests and management promptly
- Maintain swimming pool, garden areas, and exterior spaces (if applicable)
- Ensure all equipment and tools are kept in good working condition
- Perform preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and disruptions
- Report major faults or safety hazards to management
- Assist with setup for events or functions where required
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Proven experience in general maintenance (hotel/guesthouse experience advantageous)
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general building repairs
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks
- Own transport (preferred due to location)
- Ability to work flexible hours when required
