Paver Supervisor/Foreman Site-based We are seeking an experienced Paver Supervisor/Foreman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating paving activities, ensuring that daily production targets are achieved safely, efficiently and in accordance with quality and project requirements. Reporting to the Foreman / Site Agent, the role provides hands-on leadership, coordination of teams and support to site operations to ensure smooth execution of paving works. Main Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate asphalt paving crews, including operation of pavers, rollers and associated plant, ensuring correct placement, levels, thickness and compaction of asphalt layers. Follow daily work plans and communicate clear instructions to teams to ensure efficient task execution. Prepare work areas by ensuring correct materials, tools, plant and safety measures are in place before work begins. Monitor daily production outputs, identify delays or constraints and report to the Foreman. Guide teams on correct work methods, sequencing and paving standards. Ensure proper use, care and maintenance of tools, equipment and small plant. Coordinate labour, plant and materials to maintain productivity and minimise downtime. Monitor material usage and report shortages, damages or wastage. Monitor asphalt temperature during delivery, laying and compaction to ensure quality standards are achieved. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with required levels, tolerances and quality standards. Identify and report defects, non-conformances or rework requirements. Maintain basic daily records of production, labour, materials and site progress. Provide regular feedback to the Foreman on progress, risks and site conditions. Control asphalt paving operations, including coordination of paver, rollers and tipper trucks. Minimum Requirements: Education: ABET Level 4 / Grade 9 or equivalent. Supervisory training (NQF Level 3 or 4) will be advantageous. Experience: Minimum 24 years experience as a Supervisor in a construction or roadworks environment. Experience supervising multiple teams and coordinating daily site activities . Practical experience in paving and asphalt works .
