About the Role
Dis-Chem Pharmacies are seeking a reputable Post Basic Qualify Pharmacist Assistant to join their team at their Wynberg store. As a Pharmacist Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing pharmaceutical care to patients and ensuring the accurate dispensing of medicines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medicines or scheduled substances
- Assist with the compounding, manipulation or preparation of a non-sterile medicine or scheduled substance according to a formula and standard operating procedures approved by the responsible pharmacist
- Re-packaging of medicine
- Distribution and control of stock of Schedule 1 to Schedule 5 medicines or scheduled substances
- Ordering of medicine and scheduled substances up to, and including, Schedule 6 according to an instruction of a person authorised in terms of the Medicines Act
- Reading and preparation of prescriptions
- Accurately interpreting scripts and acting in a professional and responsible manner within legal requirements
- Capturing script details accurately and verifying patients’ details on the system
- Ensuring accurate picking/packing/labelling and checking of medication
- Providing information to individuals to promote health
Requirements
- Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
- Basic Pharmacist Assistance qualification
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Working experience on Unisolv
- Computer literate in MS Office
- Strong command of English and a second language
- Willing and able to work retail hours
