About the Role

Join our team as a Plant Manager at Cementation in Westonaria, West Rand, Gauteng, and be responsible for overseeing night shift operations of cement manufacturing facilities, batch plants, or underground construction sites. With 10 years of experience in the industry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety compliance, production efficiency, and strong team leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Management: Direct Nightly / daily operations, including batching, production, and scheduling to meet customer demand while maximizing efficiency.

• Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols (OSHA/HSE) and environmental regulations.

• Maintenance & Equipment: Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance on heavy machinery like mixers, pumps, conveyor systems, and crushers.

• Quality Control: Ensure products (such as concrete or grout) meet industry standards, managing batch plant procedures and laboratory relationships.

• Inventory & Logistics: Manage raw material inventories (aggregate, cement, admixtures) and oversee the dispatch/logistics of finished goods.

• Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and schedule plant employees, batchers, and drivers, fostering a strong safety culture.

• Financial Control: Manage operating budgets, including cost management, hiring, and capital expenditure (CAPEX) for site improvements.

Requirements

Industry Experience: 10 years of experience in batch plant operations, construction materials, or heavy industrial manufacturing.

Technical Knowledge: Understanding of concrete technology, grout mixes, cementation processes, and heavy equipment maintenance.

Leadership Skills: Proven experience leading teams in a high-pressure, production-focused environment.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mining, Metallurgical, Civil, Mechanical) or Business is mandatory with extensive equivalent experience.

Certifications: Concrete Technology Diploma (or similar) is an advantage.
