About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Accountant to join our team in Johannesburg North. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for preparing annual financial statements, group consolidated financial statements, and other financial reports for multiple entities. You will also handle various administrative tasks, such as bank reconciliations, general journal processing, and managing trial balances.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare annual financial statements for multiple entities
- Compile group consolidated financial statements
- Prepare and submit IT14s, provisional tax, dividend tax, VAT, and withholding tax returns
- Handle annual budgets, forecasts, and monthly management accounts
- Monthly bank reconciliations, general journal processing & consolidation entries
- Manage trial balances, general ledger and sub-ledger reconciliations
- Manage quarter-end and year-end closures
- Submit quarterly group reporting packs
- Liaise with internal & external auditors
- Review and authorise FNB online banking payments
- Develop and implement accounting policies & controls
Requirements
- BCom or BCom Honours in Accounting (Articles advantageous)
- Minimum 5+ years accounting/reporting experience
- Experience in group reporting, consolidation, and taxation
- Staff management experience is advantageous
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications: BCom or BCom Honours in Accounting (Articles advantageous)
